TRAC does not offer a drop-in service to the general public. If you have a question about your rights and responsibilities as a tenant, please review our navigation tool to your right. To help you efficiently find answers to your legal questions, we have grouped our content pages into the following categories:
- Starting a Tenancy
- During a Tenancy
- Ending a Tenancy
- Dispute Resolution (BC’s Tenant-Landlord “Court”)
- Type of Tenant
- Type of Housing
If you cannot find the help you need through our website, you can call our Tenant Infoline at 604-255-0546 or 1-800-665-1185.
Our hours of operation are:
- Monday: 1:00pm-5:00pm
- Tuesday: 1:00pm-5:00pm
- Wednesday: 5:30pm-8:30pm
- Thursday: 1:00pm-5:00pm
- Friday: 1:00pm-5:00pm
TRAC offers webinars and in-person workshops to tenants and advocates across BC. If your group is interested in requesting a workshop from a TRAC facilitator, please contact Emma Lazo at firstname.lastname@example.org or 604-255-3099 ext. 225.
Each TRAC workshop features a plain language PowerPoint presentation, Question and Answer period, and hardcopy publication distribution. Participants are also educated on how to access TRAC’s other services, such as our Tenant Infoline (1-800-665-1185), website and online course – Renting It Right (www.rentingitright.ca).
For years, TRAC has delivered workshops free of charge to tenants and advocates. However, due to funding reductions, TRAC is now asking for $200 per workshop in order to sustain this longstanding program. This fee helps TRAC pay for content updates, workshop facilitation, travel costs, publication reprints, and follow-up assistance. In addition, for workshops outside of the Lower Mainland, we ask for mileage to be paid at 50 cents per kilometre.
